Barawine

A couple of weeks ago, a friend and I met up for brunch at Barawine, a modern French bistro settled in the heart of Harlem at 120th and Lenox.

It was a sunny, but cool Fall Sunday, the leaves were still green and I chose to find us a seat outside in a corner nook on the side street. Though we brunched outside to enjoy the last rays of sunshine of the season, I was intrigued by the dark painted walls, wood accents and stacks of wine in the welcoming, intimate interior.

I did not have a sweater on hand, but I counted on the $15 bottomless mimosas to keep me warm and toasty. It worked! We first ordered the bottomless drinks, but after feeling the desired effects after just the 2nd glass, we settled for a carafe instead. I ordered the French Toast, and a side of scrambled eggs and they were delicious! The service was great and everyone was easy-going and accommodating. The prices were reasonable and the clientele was diverse (as were the food options). I will definitely return. Dinner, next time!
